The HASH Innovation Asia Summit is back again and this time it is our second year running it! It was an inspiring and fruitful 2-day Hybrid Summit from 18 to 19 November 2021, themed ‘Innovate, Uplift, & Transform the Future of Businesses’. After a successful end to Day 1, Day 2 continued the same momentum by covering topics like Digital Innovation in both E-commerce & Retail, Capital Raising for Business Growth, Agri-tech Innovations & AI for Business Automation & Management.

 

The sessions were moderated by our Managing Director, Renee Tan, SOSV SEA’s Director, Navin Danapal, President & Chairman of AI Risk Committee, RIMAS, Andeed Ma, and presented by our esteemed speakers locally & globally:

19 November: Day 2

Day 2 started off with the usual pre-event ice breaker networking session over in Zoom, where our fellow attendees together with speakers, Khoo Chia Ching, Marketing Manager, Zoho Corporation, APAC, Dr James Ong, Founder & Managing Director, Artificial Intelligence International Institute (
AIII), Singapore and Clement Low, Head of Scientific Services, NeuomeDX, Singapore got a chance to introduce themselves, their company, industry trade and who they would like to connect with during the event. After which, our Managing Director, Renee Tan made her opening remarks to officially kick start the event.

Our first panel for day 2 was under ‘Retail & E-commerce Innovation’ with speakers:

  • Joshua Liew, Founder & Owner, espressolab, Malaysia

  • Boon Kim San, Head of Digital Business & Innovation, Enterprise Banking, AFFIN Bank Berhad, Malaysia

 

In this panel, the speakers discussed on the topic ‘The World of Digital Innovation to Address the Gaps in O2O Retail & E-commerce‘, and shared on strategies to accelerate cross-border business growth through bridging online shopping with offline experience, ways to capitalising on product and corporate innovation to drive business differentiation & overcome digital disruption and developing capital raising strategies to drive expansion and internationalisation. This was then followed by a live Q&A session with our speakers and attendees virtually.

Next, we had Rebekah Woo, Vice Chair of the Board from Bansea, Singapore who gave us  a some insights on ‘The New Normal in Financing & Capital Raising to Accelerate Business Growth‘, where she spoke about what are the current trends in capital raising to fund for international growth, how to develop fundraising strategies for gradual vs aggressive business growth as well as what should SMEs & start-ups look out for? Lastly, understanding the impact of ICOs and cryptocurrency in the future of investment & rapid business growth. This was then followed by a live Q&A session with our speakers and attendees virtually.

Our second panel under ‘Urban Agriculture Innovation’ had speakers:

Where they discussed on the topic ‘Grow Green in The City: Urban Agriculture Innovation for Future Sustainability‘, and covered on key areas like enabling agricultural communities through agritech to maximise productivity & yield, how to develop a sustainable & ethical supply chain in food production and finally exploring nutritious protein-based meat alternatives options. This was then followed by a live Q&A session with our speakers and attendees on-site and virtually.

Our final panel for the day under ‘Robotics, Automation & AI‘ had invited speakers:

In this panel, speakers shared their insights on the topic ‘AI for Pragmatic Business Innovation Balancing Automation and Risk Management’, and discussed on strategies to enhance digital transformation with AI, implementing ethical frameworks and compliance as dimensions of trusted AI, and ways to manage risks through data protection and AI. This was then followed by a live Q&A session with our speakers and attendees on-site and virtually.

Day 2 ended with a closing remark from our Founder and Managing Director, Renee Tan and followed by a virtual lucky draw for both VIP & General pass holders. We then wrapped up the event with a Virtual Networking session for all Pass holders on Zoom.
