The HASH Innovation Asia Summit is back again and this time it is our second year running it! It was an inspiring and fruitful 2-day Hybrid Summit from 18 to 19 November 2021, themed ‘Innovate, Uplift, & Transform the Future of Businesses’. HASH Innovation Asia Summit was produced as a response to the rise of accelerated technological changes and innovation in the future of businesses amidst the pandemic, where we have converted our virtual conference to a hybrid on-site at Bridge+, Singapore. The event discusses the latest technologies and industries that matter, from health tech, retail innovation, urban agriculture innovation, to e-commerce, AI & robotics, and capital raising.

 

There were about 200 attendees at this exclusive “closed-door” hybrid summit, where there were opportunities to learn & network at Bridge+, virtually and via the event app, with Guest Of Honour, Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community & Youth & Ministry of Trade & Industry   Singapore, Minister Low Yen Ling, sessions moderated by our Managing Director of Hashtaqs, Renee Tan, Artificial Intelligence International Institute   (AIII)’s Founder & Managing Director, Dr James Ong, SOSV SEA’s Director and presented by our esteemed speakers locally & globally:

 

The summary event highlights are as follows:   

 
18 November: Day 1

Day 1 started off with a pre-event ice breaker networking session on-site for VIP pass holders and over in Zoom for General pass holders, where our fellow attendees together with our Vietnam Chapter leader, Debby Wong, Founder of Indiigo Culture and speaker, Dr Reena Sharma, CEO & Founder, Shandi Global, Singapore got a chance to introduce themselves, their company, industry trade and who they would like to connect with during the event. After which an opening remark from both Renee Tan & our Guest of Honour, Minister Low Yen Ling, who could not attend the event in person on-site to officially kick start the event.  

 

Minister Low in her remarks mentioned that innovation is key in determining how well Singapore enterprises can thrive in the new normal. Today, Singapore has 15 startup unicorns which includes the likes of Sea, Grab, Razer, Nanofilm & more recently Ninjavan.

 

Minister Low continues on to say that in 2020, the Ministry of Trade & Industry has made several enhancements to Startup SG initiatives offered by Enterprise Singapore (ESG), which provides Entrepreneurs with mentorship, funding and other relevant support.

Over the next 5 years, Singapore’s Ministry of Trade & Industry will commit SGD$25 billion under the Research, Innovation & Enterprise (RIE) 2025 plan to support innovation & R&D.

 

Minister Low shares that the Singapore Government is helping businesses in their digital transformation through various schemes like Grow Digital part of ESG & IMDA’s SME’s Go Digital Programme to help businesses reach global audiences through e-commerce platforms.

The summit kicked off with our very first panel under ‘The Future of Digital Economy’ with speakers:

 

  • Danny Loong, CEO & Founder, Timbre Group, Singapore

  • Ken Soh, Group CIO, BH Global Corporation, Singapore

  • Clement Low, Head of Scientific Services, NeuomeDX, Singapore

 

Where they discussed on the topic ‘Embracing The New Normal: Be Future & Digital Ready Beyond 2021‘, and shared on different ways to engage with new-generation employees from 2021 and beyond, steps to cushion the impact of Covid-19 on remote working and cybersecurity and strategies to develop cross-border partnerships for digital growth. This was then followed by a live Q&A session with our speakers and attendees on-site and virtually.

Embracing The New Normal: Be Future & Digital Ready Beyond 2021

Next, we had Khoo Chia Ching, Marketing Manager from Zoho Corporation, APAC who gave us a quick presentation on ‘Delivering Customer Empathy At Scale Through Increased Digitalisation‘, where he spoke on achieving & delivering customer empathy at scale effectively, leveraging and employing the right digital tools to facilitate quick access to customer intelligence and lastly understanding the benefits of the force multiplier effect of AI when it is being adopted across integrated technology platforms.

Delivering Customer Empathy At Scale Through Increased Digitalisation

Our second panel under ‘Future of Digital Health’ had speakers:

 

  • Serene Cai, Co-Founder, Speedoc, Singapore

  • Marc Torras, Managing Director, Zenyum, Singapore

  • Ng Li Lian, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Tetsuyu Healthcare, Singapore

 

In this panel, the speakers shared their insights on the topic ‘The Next Health Tech Frontier: Empowering Patients with Digital Healthcare to Facilitate Efficient Diagnosis & Treatment’, and discussed on understanding the changing landscape in the healthcare sector & the latest upcoming trends, implementing digital transformation in healthcare, what are some of the dos and don’ts of it and on collaboration, partnership and the consumerism strategies in building a successful health-tech start-up. This was then followed by a live Q&A session with our speakers and attendees on-site and virtually.

The Next Health Tech Frontier: Empowering Patients with Digital Healthcare to Facilitate Efficient Diagnosis & Treatment

Our final panel for the day under ‘Future of Fintech & Digital Banking’ had invited speakers:

 

  • Kelvin Lam, Regional General Manager, YouTrip, Singapore

  • Zann Kwan, CEO, Deodi & Bitcoin Echange, Singapore

  • Gabriel Wong, Co-Founder, Cyberdyne Tech Exchange, Singapore

 

Where they discussed on the topic ‘Future of FinTech: Fueling Cross-border Business Growth Opportunities‘, and gave their thoughts on accelerating innovation of cross-border payments and transactions for better customer experience with security, what are some of the emerging opportunities and risks for decentralised finance business models and lastly, leveraging on fintech powered by AI and blockchain to fuel your business for regional growth. This was then followed by a live Q&A session with our speakers and attendees on-site and virtually.

Future of FinTech: Fueling Cross-border Business Growth Opportunities

Day 1 ended with a closing remark from our Founder and Managing Director, Renee Tan and Bridge+’s Vice President, Edmund Eng, after which was followed by a on-site & virtual lucky draw for both VIP & General pass holders. This was then proceeded with our VIP & Virtual Networking session for all Pass holders on-site at Bridge+, Singapore and on Zoom.

On-site VIP attendees also got an opportunity to have a Bridge+ site tour, where they get to see the various facilities, services and workspaces available in their main building.
