The 4th Annual HASH Innovation Asia Summit 2023 co-located with Support SMB took place at the prestigious Suntec Convention Convention & Exhibition Centre in Singapore, bringing together industry leaders, experts, and visionaries from around the world. With the overarching theme of ‘Propelling Sustainable Innovation, Delivering Business Impact’, the summit provided a dynamic platform to explore the latest advancements in innovation and sustainability.

15 May 2023 – Day 1

Day 1 started off at 9:00am with an attendee registration session on-site for VIP pass holders.

After which an opening remark from Lawrence Chan, Managing Director of MyRepublic Singapore, Renee Tan & followed by our Guest of Honour, Ang Yuit, Vice President of The Association of Small & Medium Enterprises (ASME) to officially kick start the event.

After a quick breakfast networking break, the summit kicked off full force with our very first inspiring keynote address by Wendy Wu, Founder & Chairman of Wonder Tech, where she presented on the topic ‘Revolutionising Mental Health with Voice AI: Fighting Depression at Scale‘.

Next we had our very first panel session for the day  under ‘Beyond Web3.0 in Retail & Entertainment’ titled ‘Enabling seamless immersive experiences, creative commerce & streamlined operations to engage new generation customers’ which was moderated by Renee Tan, together with speakers:

Where they discussed on ways to bridge the virtual-physical divide in retail & entertainment through next generation Web 3.0 experience, revolutionising how SMEs transform their businesses through blockchain technologies to streamline operations & secure information and more about NFTs and the comparison with other traditional industry businesses. This was then followed by a live Q&A session with our speakers and attendees on-site.

For the next session, we had Bryan Chua, CTO, Strategic Account of Microsoft Singapore, who had presented about ‘Leading In The Era Of Generative AI’.

The second panel session for the day under ‘Frontiers in Artificial Intelligence’ titled ‘Building the next breed of businesses and SMEs with the new wave of AI breakthroughs with ChatGPT and beyond’ which was moderated by Artificial Intelligence International Institute (AIII)’s Founder & Managing Director, Dr James Ong had speakers like:

After lunch, our next panel session for the day was under ‘Governance, Safety & Cybersecurity In The Generative AI Era’ titled ‘Attaining Sustainable AI for Humanity with the Right Balance of Innovations, Monetization and Risk Management’ which was also moderated by Dr James Ong, together with speakers:

To wrap it all up, our last and final panel session was under ‘Cybersecurity Threats & Defence’ titled ‘Navigating The Cybersecurity Landscape For SMEs’ which was moderated by Singapore Fintech Association’s Past Chairman, Cyber Risk Sub-Committee, Michael Lew, joined by speakers like:

Throughout Day 1, attendees were immersed in a series of captivating sessions featuring presentations, panel discussions, and keynote addresses. The topics covered a wide range of emerging trends and challenges, including generative AI, web3, cybersecurity, ESG, and the future of work. Renowned speakers, including Dr. Ng Aik Beng from Nvidia AI Technology Center and Mr. Bryan Chua, CTO of Microsoft, delivered enlightening presentations, sharing their expertise and exploring the transformative potential of technologies like generative AI. Panel discussions, such as the one on enabling seamless immersive experiences, brought together representatives from Mighty Jaxx, The Sandbox, and Fandom Studio, who provided valuable insights on leveraging web3 concepts, blockchain, and non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to unlock new business opportunities. With the support of sponsors, exhibitors, and thought-provoking sessions, Day 1 of the HASH Innovation Asia Summit 2023 proved to be an inspiring and enlightening experience for all participants.

Day 1 came to a close with a closing remark from the Founder and Managing Director. The event concluded with an on-site lucky draw for VIP pass holders, followed by a networking session for all pass holders on-site.

Throughout the day, attendees had the opportunity to network, share knowledge, and explore collaboration opportunities. The event aimed to inspire innovation, investment, and impact-driven initiatives and showcased valuable investment opportunities and performances by international artists. Day 2 of the HASH Innovation Asia Summit 2023 delved into critical topics such as ESG and sustainability, unlocking the potential of the next generation workforce, and an inspiring keynote address by Marvyn Lim Seng, also known as “Spaceman.”

The panel discussion on ESG and sustainability shed light on the significance of these topics for businesses. Syed Mubarak, Kee Wei Hui, Kenneth Ng, and Geetha Gopal emphasized the need for organizations to prioritize sustainability and make it a fundamental aspect of their operations. They highlighted the urgent need for decarbonization efforts, particularly in the real estate sector, which accounts for a staggering 40% of global carbon emissions. The panelists also showcased examples of companies like Razer, who prioritize sustainable products and green investments to reduce carbon emissions. Verdana’s commitment to digitizing carbon management for commercial facilities demonstrated the importance of innovative solutions in addressing emissions.

The subsequent panel discussion focused on unlocking the potential of the next generation workforce.

Representatives from fintech, flexible workspaces, and talent development sectors shared their insights on agility, humanizing the workforce, and the impact of technology on work.

SFA (Singapore Fintech Association) was recognized for its role in fostering collaboration and innovation among its members. Kelvin Wong Kong, the Executive Director of Mentoring SG, emphasized the significance of building support ecosystems and organizational cultures.

Nim Sivakumaran, Head of Strategic Partnerships at Arcc Spaces, highlighted the importance of human connection and purpose in the workplace. Shree Mogan, HR Business Partner at Riot Games, discussed the lessons learned during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic. The panel acknowledged the evolving nature of talent acquisition, the need for employers to address sensitive topics such as mental health and diversity, and the importance of upskilling and reskilling.

Marvyn Lim Seng, also known as “Spaceman,” delivered an awe-inspiring keynote address. He shared his space travel experience as the first Singaporean and discussed the importance of leadership beyond STEM.

Despite challenges and setbacks, the team demonstrated remarkable perseverance and teamwork. The mission aims to provide a safe and affordable way for anyone to experience space travel. Marvyn Lim Seng emphasized the crucial role of investment and research and development in driving innovation in space exploration. He also underscored the significance of a positive attitude and advanced communication technology for success in space missions.

Day 2 of the HASH Innovation Asia Summit 2023 delivered invaluable insights and inspiration, highlighting the intersection of sustainability, the future of work, and pioneering space exploration. The summit continued to catalyze collaboration, innovation, and investment in shaping a better and more sustainable future.
