HASH Innovation Asia Summit is back again for a successful third time running!

The HASH Innovation Asia Summit is back again and what a great third round it has been! We had an inspiring and fruitful 2-day Hybrid Summit from 1 to 2 September 2022, themed ‘Innovate, Collaborate & Globalise For The Future Of Sustainable Economy’. The event discusses the latest technologies, innovation, globalisation & sustainability strategies for various industries, for the future of building a sustainable economy.

There were about 300 attendees at this exclusive “closed-door” hybrid summit, where there were opportunities to learn & network at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, virtually and via the website platform. The summary event highlights are as follows:   

1 September: Day 1

Day 1 started off at 9:00am with an attendee registration and a breakfast networking session on-site for VIP pass holders and over in Zoom at 9:30am for General pass holders, where our fellow attendees together with our Vietnam Chapter leader, Debby Wong, Founder of Indiigo Culture and Alan, Director of Marketing & Business Development, AIII, Singapore got a chance to introduce themselves, their company, industry trade and who they would like to connect with during the event. After which an opening remark from both Renee Tan & our Guest of Honour, Senior Parliamentary Secretary Baey Yam Ken to officially kick start the event.

The summit kicked off with our very first panel under ‘Going Green Holistically & Sustainably For Our Business, Buildings & Cities which was moderated by Andeed Ma, President of Risk and Insurance Management Association of Singapore (RIMAS), Singapore together with speakers:

Where they discussed on evaluating the impact of SG Green Plan 2030 and net zero carbon emission initiatives while meeting customers’ needs, how the 2030 Green Plan would impact property development, business investments and society as a whole and ways to develop decarbonisation, digitalisation & disclosure strategies to achieve sustainable goals for businesses in a long term. Next, we had the panel under Exploring Future Investment Trends & Capital Raising Strategies to Accelerate Startups & SMEs of Tomorrow which was moderated by our Managing Director, Renee Tan, together with speakers:

Exploring Future Investment Trends & Capital Raising Strategies to Accelerate Startups & SMEs of Tomorrow

After lunch and a quick 1 hour speed networking amongst the attendees, our third panel under Uncovering The Future of Smart Healthcare, which was moderated by Dr James Ong, Founder & Managing Director of Artificial Intelligence International Institute (AIII) had speakers:

Uncovering The Future of Smart Healthcare

Our fire-side chat for the day, under The Future of Food: Urban Agriculture & Innovation to Scale Up had invited speaker:

Where he gave his thoughts on how to overcome agriculture yield through crop intelligence, discovering what is trending, opportunities & challenges in agriculture technology and creating an investable agribusiness model while doing good. The Future of Food: Urban Agriculture & Innovation to Scale Up

Our next exciting fire-side chat under The Future of Food: Food Technology Innovation to Meet Consumers’ Demands had invited speakers:

  • Kelvin Ng, Executive Vice President, Float Foods, Green Rebel Foods, Singapore
  • Florence Leong, Co-Founder & Director, Kosmode Health, Singapore

In this session, they shared their insights on exploring production in food alternatives to meet rising global food demands, discovering investment opportunities & challenges in both agriculture & the food technology business and improving business success from R&D to commercialization through PPP, food security & sustainability strategies. This was then followed by a live Q&A session with our speakers and attendees on-site and virtually as well as a live cooking demo, where on-site attendees get to try out and sample a taste of plant-based cooked noodles.

The Future of Food: Food Technology Innovation to Meet Consumers’ Demands

After a final round of networking break for the day, all on-site attendees were then divided into 3 groups to participate in any one of our Roundtable Discussions.

The first Roundtable Discussion, Adopting Risk Management Strategies To Accelerate Future Business Growth was led by:

  • Lim Wei Ri, Head of Compliance, Komainu, Singapore  

In this session, he discussed the future of risk management to support innovation strategy, attributes of effective risk management strategies for the digital age and finally the role of a risk manager to support management decision-making in the digital age.

The second Roundtable Discussion on Future of Frontier Technologies & Innovation was led by:

  • Dr. James Ong, Founder & Managing Director, Artificial Intelligence International Institute,  Singapore

In this roundtable, Dr James shared the concept behind AI, Blockchain, Web3 and Metaverse, understanding why these current frontier technologies matter to you, your career and your business and discovering what are the different ways of venturing into them.

The third and final Roundtable discussion for the day was Nurturing Diverse Talent & Accelerating Business Growth Through Innovation & Cross Border Expansion. This was led by:

  • Shree Mogan, APAC Publishing HR Business Partner, Riot Games, Singapore

Participants discussed on embracing diversity & inclusion in the workplace to spur creativity & productivity, exploring the future of work models to expedite exponential business growth overseas and cultivating skillsets & promoting leadership for women in technology.

Day 1 ended with a closing remark from our Founder and Managing Director, Renee Tan, which was followed by an on-site lucky draw for VIP pass holders. This then proceeded with our VIP & Virtual Networking session for all Pass holders on-site at Grand Copthorne Waterfront, Singapore and on Zoom.
